Fabulous book which perfectly continues the Eragon story. Christopher makes the characters come alive and believable in every sense of the word and I was able to picture in my mind exactly what the book was saying and each small detail helped to build up a far greater picture in my mind. Christopher's imagination is such that I can well understand how the story has evolved from three books to four and his ability to enable his readers to 'see' what he sees in his stories is spectacular. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the realms of fantasy and dragons. I look forward to reading the conclusion of this fabulous story and hope he continues to let his imagination run free!
unnecessary details

The book had some good twists and some of the descriptions are really interesting and vivid. However, there were parts of the book that should have been left out especially the part where Eragon is making his sword. I read the chapter without really knowing what I was reading. A book should be detailed but not as much as this.
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my god!! This book rocks! I have all 3 books so far and cant wiat 4 the 4th one! Brisingr was awsome! it has loads of pages (which i love) and the twists are really good and are placed at good times throughout the book.
I think some chapters are not needed but they are still a good addition to the book anyway. The storyline is good and I'm glad that we get to learn more about Roran in this book.
I recomend this to anyone who looves a good read! If you havent read any of the other inheritance then go but the 3rd one but if you have been with Eragon and Saphira all the way then you best buy this book!
Great

I have heard a lot of people saying this book is average and boring but i think that everyone who said that are wrong! This is absolutly amazin and the story plan really made me picture the fights and the hatred eragon feels about galbatorix. Must read triology for all lovers of fantasy!
Outstanding Book but Lots of Uneeded Chapters

I am a big fan of the inheritance series. This book was not a disappointment but at the same time it was very laboured and I am very disappointed that he did not finish the series off in this book.
The basic storyline was very good and there were some good twists and battle scenes however alot of the book was just flying across alagaesia and it got a little dull at times.
I would reccommed the book though be prepared for a long read...
Can't wait 4 the 4th one!!!!
Brilliant !

I loved this book. They just get better and better. I cnt wait for the next one.
There was nothing wrong with the book infact i thought this was the better of the 3. The others go to far in depth with description and the different character storiesbegan to drag but this book didn't fail to entertain.
Loved it !
Absolutely average

A pleasant read but nothing really happens. I am not sure this book was needed and a few twists would have brightened it up and made it worthwhile.
Ermmm...

Well, where to start. The book continues straight from the end of eldest, although it has good twists, and the general idea of the story is very good, it is very badly written and there are quite a few bits where i had to re read because i thought i had missed a sentence, but i hadnt. Good concept, badly delivered
Dull

The Sci-Fi and Fantasy genre is saturated with books of this type. This particularly series by Paolini really has taken a downward plummet. I finished reading this book and was woefully unimpressed. Nothing really seemed to happen that was interesting or barely original, yet it was almost 800 pages long.
The relationships between the characters are unconvincing, and toward the end I realised that I felt very little for any of the characters or the outcome. As for the plot, it really was rather predictable.
Paolini needs to read around the genre and come up with better ideas, characters, and plot - but I think it might be too late for that. Read some McCaffrey, Pratchett, Rowling, Pullman or Tolkien instead. This book really is an unnecessary strain on the eyes.
was ok

Right im not saying its bad, but i think couldve been alot better, many of the so called twists everyone goes on about are really pretty predictable and to built up.
For someone who is supossed to be so lethal and powerful with amazing abilities eragon still has trouble with many things.
Seems that everything is put off till last minute also, was waiting for entire book for a certain something to happen and it didnt, so i know it happens in last book, just hope it doesnt happen at the end like this one.
