An autobiography - without the boring bits!

I like Russell, but i avoided this for ages because of the stupid title. I didn't want to read a "booky wook"! But after someone lent me it - i discovered that this is the most interesting autobiography out there. Russell isn't even remotely guarded - phew. Doesn't play the "i'll keep them guessing about some stuff" game. So refreshing.
There are plenty of stories about him doing things that you'd probably hate other people for, and all the sordid details of... the sordid stuff. It's great.
Verdict: Highly entertaining proof that Russell Brand isn't a persona!
Hilarious but poigniant.

This book is brilliant, funny and had me laughing out loud on several occasions, despite this however, Russell definately did not have an easy ride to fame and some of his stories are quite shocking. This man is truely a legend!
this guy is a ledgend

One of the best books i have ever read. You really feel like you get to know the man behind the massive character. Russell is a ledge.
A bitter-sweet tale of an extremely likeable character

I approached this book with a certain degree of apprehension and only really bought it due to its very reasonable price on Play, but can honestly say that my initial expectations of the book(and indeed, those of Mr Brand), have been confounded!
The book itself reads extremely well, in part due to Russell's evident love of the English language and the fact that his anecdotes are often so bizarre and hillarious that the chapters fly-by.
I came away from this book with a new-found appreciation for Brand and his work, and its weird now knowing all those strange little details that make-up his persona when we see him perform
A great read.

I read this book in less than week, which is pretty quick. A great book for any Russel Brand fan. This is also one of the funniest books i have read, he makes random comments about funny situations he gets himself in. Well written and he tells about his childhood right though to where he is now. A very detailed describtion of his drug and sex problems. Would recommend.
Hilarious

Such a funny book.
At times I had to put it down because I had tears in my eyes from some of the random observations he makes.
Really nice story and fairly well written.
If you like Russel Brand at all, you will love this book

Russell's book is a quick read. He's outlined a life as an only child with separated parents and a step dad he hates. He behaves badly, yet for all this bad behaviour, bunking off and so on he still comes out of school with 5 times more qualifications than I did.
The book is filled with tributes to his friends and associates who helped him along the way and especially to the countless drug filled events that have befallen him. Without many of them he would be living now in a gutter asking for 10p for a cup of tea, but as this book explains he has been backed by people with time, cash or compassion till he reaches a forced rehab.
Personally I found it interesting why someone takes drugs and the ill effect it has had. I saw once the wonder of one such drug and knew my lack of will power would lead me to a brain mashed end. So in a way this is the story of a similar person to me who took the other turn and thought yes I could do more of this! The fact that it opened up his creativeness doesn't appear in this book for every idea he seemed to have had seem neither funny nor clever. In a way if you want to be famous it'd be a good guide to the way you can succeed with only the ability to show off.
As he has now many successes I am sure he will continue to be one of Britain's best dandies. Sadly I think it makes him look like a sad deperate wannabe from a self made hell. For some he has talent but this book sadly doesn't capture any of it other than a fancy use of words and other peoples money.

This is definately one of the best autobiographies i have read. It is funny and blunt, and extremely dirty. Basically Russell Brand in book form. If you are a fan of Russell (or listen to his radio show) you will love this, as the anecdotes are amazing and it is nice to know about his background. Read it about three times.
