I can't agree more with the other opinions - I was looking forward to reading The Business but like Faces, found it boring and repetitive. Description of characters must appear on almost every page. Almost non existent storyline - no nitty gritty stuff this time!

Very disappointing. The storyline was not very strong and it was easier to skip passages. It was very repetitive. Maybe Martina should go back to the likes of Ladykiller, the East End stories seem to be running out.
Love her but finding it harder to enjoy

I have read every one of Martina's books, and loved them all apart from 'The Take' it really got on my nerves, just going over the same thing over and over again. In fact at one stage I had to check which page number as I thought I was reading the same page again and again. Martina your great but you must stop repeating the Description of Caricatures' it drove me crazy. I must say I started skipping the pages, as was bored stiff. Come on Martin, go back to your great writing.
repetative

Having read every Martina Cole book, I must admit I was disappointed with the last two. I found them so repetative that I was getting bored and just wanted to get to the end. The story lines were great but having to read the same thing over and over about the characters got on my nerves, but no doubt I will read her next novel in the hope that it will be like her previous ones.
I'm with Hayley and Minta on this - just a general repeat of her other books, same old heard before stuff, the phrases like "any slight, real or imagined" and "an belly full of arms and legs" came into play once again, it was pretty similar to her last book with Danny Cadogan in!! yes it was good, gritty, but just similar to her recent others, my favourite for the record was Faceless, I have read every single one of Martina Coles books and wait desperately for her new ones to come out, after this one.... well I reckon I will still buy her, but I think I'll just chill and wait for the cheapy paperback!! Sorry Martina, but you just didn't hit jackpot this time, you need to get some new "faces" and some new places!!!
Boring and repetative

I completely agree with minta01. I'm a definate fan of Martina Cole even though her stuff is the same thing over & over, but she has the shock factor that makes you unable to put the book down.
However there was absolutely nothing new with 'the business'. The story reminded me of 'the runaway' (only the runaway was good!). It basically focuses on the relationship between Imedla Dooley & her daughter Jordanna. Not sure why it was called the business, because it really wasnt about the business at all. It repeated itself so obviously all the way through. But at least there wasn't too much 'and they/he/she knew it' after every sentence. Her old stuff is good though. My favourite is 'two women'.

I have been an addicted reader of Martina cole but have found that her last two books are page fillers. I couldnt wait to get the business as soon as it came out but was dissapointed with the same story repeating it self page after page. On one page it was saying about Imelda past and then eleven lines down she repeated it agin in different words. Very dissapointed..

I am so far only half way thorugh this book but it is one of her best books!
I have read every one of martina coles books and this is one of her best, i can not wait to finish it- its one of those books where you feel for the characters and just cant wait to se ehow it ends. The storey line is real and believable with the usual bad boys and hard done by people that martina creates so brilliantly!
